POINSETTIA PROJECT
SPREADING THE HOLIDAY CHEER
In 2017, the Waconia Lions Club began purchasing and delivering poinsettia plants to residents in local nursing homes, assisted living residents care centers, and other senior housing.
Local Waconia Lions members, along with the help of their family members, load up the poinsettias and split into teams to deliver the plants to the local facilities as a gesture to kick of the holidays.
This year (2022) the Waconia Lions Club ordered 550 poinsettias and delivered them to 8 different locations around Waconia.
This is one of the club’s favorite events as the volunteers get to see how much joy this simple project brings to the area residents.
